Email Client Configuration with AIT Gmail

Please refer to the steps below on how to configure
your email client to be used with AIT Gmail

Enable IMAP or POP in your AIT Gmail Account:

Login to your AIT Gmail web, then go to Settings | Forwarding and POP/IMAP

If you use POP then check either Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for all mail that arrives from now on , depending on your requirement. In the field When messages are accessed with POP choose your desired option.

If you use IMAP then click Enable IMAP . If neccessary adjust also other options

To save the changes, click button Save changes

Allow less secure apps in order to be able to send mails (SMTP) from non-Google applications:

Still login in your AIT Gmail web, go to My account, then choose Sign-in & security. scroll down until you find Allow less secure apps. Set it to be On . The new setup will be saved automatically.

Then configure your client email software (e.g. Outlook) as follows:

For POP:
Incoming server: pop.gmail.com, Use SSL, port 995
Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com, Require Authentication, Use SSL, Port 465
Username: yourusername@ait.asia
Password: your password (at least 8 characters)

For IMAP:
Incoming server: imap.gmail.com, Use SSL, port 993
Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com, Require Authentication, Use SSL, Port 465
Username: yourusername@ait.asia
Password: your password (at least 8 characters)
